WELCOME

My name is Sally, and welcome to my website.

Life has many challenges: sometimes we cope, and other times we just can't find the strength. As a therapist, I provide a safe and confidential space for you to offload, increase your self-awareness and find pathways through difficult times.

The most important part of therapy is the connection between therapist and client. If you feel a connection to me, we can build a relationship founded on trust to help you move forward with a sense of hope for a brighter future.

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist with a bachelor's degree in Counselling and Human Change, and am fully insured as a counsellor and psychotherapist. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their Code of Ethics.

My private practice is based in The Practice Rooms in the centre of Cheltenham. I also provide online counselling via Zoom or Skype, and currently work with people from across the UK and overseas.

Face to face appointments are now available at

The Practice Rooms in Cheltenham.

I am also available for online counselling via Zoom.

Please contact me to make an appointment.

ABOUT ME

I have worked as a therapist for over 8 years, having qualified for my bachelor’s degree in Counselling and Human Change in Sydney Australia.  Along with my husband and young children, I moved to Sydney 12 years ago, and back again in 2018, so I know the challenges of emigration. I have personally felt a sense of loss, sadness, fear and being totally overwhelmed. Now, being the mother of two teenage daughters, I understand the pressures of family life, school issues and exam pressures, while still navigating my own journey of ups and downs, sadness, joy, pain and continued growth. I look after my own wellbeing by spending plenty of time outdoors in the company of my beautiful labrador Lily, who is a registered PAT dog (Pets as Therapy).

For over 20 years, I worked as a corporate business trainer, delivering courses to people from the boardroom to the building site, which has given me rich insight into human experience and an ability to connect with people from all walks of life.  I taught many courses including communication skills, management skills and stress management, as well as writing and delivering a resilience skills programme for both adults and Sixth Form students.

As well as providing a safe space for you to be heard, I am a solutions-focused therapist, equipping you with a 'toolbox' of strategies you can draw upon when you are not in my therapy room. This toolbox is created by working together, being brave, vulnerable, honest and open to new ideas, thoughts and ways of being in the world. This takes courage, trust and a sometimes a sense of humour and I feel confident in providing an environment where all of this can take place.

The question I am asked the most from potential clients is, "What technique or therapeutic modality do I use?" I am trained in numerous techniques including CBT, Person-Centred and Narrative Therapy but my answer is always the same: it's not about the technique, but the connection between therapist and client. I'll work hard to build a strong, professional connection with you, laying the foundations for transformative growth and personal development.

Empathy is at the heart of therapy, but I will also challenge you to help you move forward. I always ensure I do this in a safe environment, using my experience to judge when this is necessary. I don't have all the answers, but my role is to help you find them, and work together to move forward in whatever journey you need to take.
